Applications should be focusing on how to enhance the visibility of Open Access and e-publishing
Today the Nordbib programme has opened the first stage within the focus area for Policy and Visibility (Work Package 1). The purpose is to promote the understanding of and dialogue about Open Access.
The project call is open to everyone, who may be part of the potential project applicants such as national or research libraries in collaboration with universities, national digital library projects, research institutions, scientific societies, scientific academies or scientific publishers.
Nordbib invites the Nordic libraries and research parties as mentioned to develop applications for Nordic collaboration initiatives within the area ofPolicy and Visibility. The collaboration has to ensure that the national and research libraries most specialised knowledge and know-how can be reused and made useful in border environments.
Moreover, this focus area aims to meet the target results of the Nordbib programme concerning:
Active knowledge exchange and recommendations about OA, and scientific publication in support of OA to Nordic scientific information
Rendering visible the importance of OA publishing and promotion of understanding and dialogue about OA
Strengthening the Nordic information infrastructure for scientific publication through Best Practice within e-publishing and digitisation
The total budget for the call is DKK 500.000 and funding will be allocated as a single contribution late 2007. The proposed duration of activities is 1-2 years.
