As a means of enhancing co-operation between the Nordic countries, NordForsk is initiating a pilot coordination programme, NORIA-net.
NordForsks primary task is to promote efficient co-operation between the Nordic countries in research and researcher education of the highest international quality. The primary basis for NordForsk’s initiatives is national priorities, as expressed in national programmes or in initiatives taken by the research councils, universities and other research institutions.
Eligible participants are Nordic national research and innovation financiers and/or managers.
The primary aim of the call is to launch coordination activities leading to synergy effects, sustainable cooperation and joint investments within research funding and research policy, for example:
Facilitate practical initiatives, which on a long-term basis will lead to the reciprocal opening of national research funding opportunities to researchers from other Nordic countries.
Develop the strategic planning and design of joint Nordic calls with Nordic top-funding
Create planning synergies and disseminate best practices for national research funding management in order to improve the basis for joint activities, for example in proposal evaluation
Improve mutual understanding and develop joint priorities on research policy issues
