The overall goal of Nordbib is to promote an efficient co-operation between the Nordic countries in an effort to strengthen the Nordic countries in a global context. Furthermore, Nordbib is intended to engage in active information sharing with the Baltic states.
As a result, Nordbib's activities should help emphasize the Nordic utility value as well as support and co-operate with European initiatives, where relevant. Nordbib may be seen as the link between developments at national and European levels.

Strategic collaborations between national libraries and scientific institutions and societies in the areas of e-publishing, methods and tools

Rendering visible the importance of OA publishing and promotion of understanding and dialogue about OA
Strengthening the Nordic information infrastructure for scientific research publication through Best Practice within e-publishing and digitization
Focus on interaction and task distribution in connection with e-science
Strategic collaboration for the purpose of competitive access to Nordic scientific information
Technical standards and solutions for recovery and accessibility of scientific information and e-science in digital archives
