Strategic cooperation

The overall goal of Nordbib is to promote an efficient cooperation between the Nordic countries in an effort to strengthen the Nordic countries in a global context. Furthermore, Nordbib is intended to engage in active knowledge exchange with the Baltic states. As a result, Nordbib's activities should help emphasize the Nordic use value as well as support and co-operate with national and European levels.

 

Nordbib can be seen as the link between development on European level as well as the national level. On European level strategic partner will be the Knowledge Exchange Initiativ between JISC, SURF, DFG and DEFF) as well as European projects for example DRIVER (EU project on Institutional Repositories). On Nordic level strategic partnership with NOP-HS and Nordforsk is most relevant.

Nordbib and NOP-HS were hosts for the policymaking workshop on Open Access and the satellite workshop on ePublishing in practice in April 2007.
